DGGF & the Seed Capital and Business Development (SC&BD) facility
The DGGF ‘Investment Fund Local SMEs’ is an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to improve the access to finance for ‘missing middle’ SMEs in selected DGGF countries. The ‘missing middle’ refers to entrepreneurs whose financing needs are neither served by microfinance nor by conventional capital market players. To enhance the chances of young and first-time entrepreneurs and improve the conduciveness of their operating ecosystems, the SC&BD facility seeks to support local capacity building initiatives and improve their quality, accessibility, and affordability.
